Ingredients

  • 250 g fettuccine pasta
  • 200 g unsalted butter
  • 250 ml heavy cream
  • 200 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions or until it's al dente.
  • Drain the pasta and set it aside.

Prepare the Alfredo Sauce:

  • In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but do not let it brown.

Add Cream and Cheese:

  • Pour in the heavy cream and stir well.
  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the cream to heat up.
  • Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the sauce is smooth and the cheese is fully melted.
  • Season the sauce with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Be careful with the salt, as Parmesan cheese is already salty.

Combine Pasta and Sauce:

  • Add the cooked and drained fettuccine pasta to the Alfredo sauce.
  • Toss the pasta in the sauce until it's well coated and heated through.

Serve:

  • Serve the Fettuccine Alfredo hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
