Ingredients
Steak
- 2 boneless ribeye or sirloin steaks
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp fresh thyme chopped (optional)
Garlic baby potatoes
- 500 g baby potatoes washed and halved
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Marinate the Steaks:
- In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, olive oil, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub this mixture evenly over both sides of the steaks.
- Cover the steaks and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or you can marinate them overnight for even more flavor.
Prepare the Garlic Baby Potatoes:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the halved baby potatoes, minced garlic, olive oil, dried rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together to coat the potatoes evenly.
- Create a foil packet for the potatoes by placing the potato mixture in the center of a large sheet of aluminum foil. Fold the sides of the foil up and over the potatoes, then fold in the top and bottom to seal the packet.
Grill the Steaks and Potatoes:
- Place the foil packet of potatoes on the preheated grill and cook for about 20-25 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Be sure to flip the packet occasionally for even cooking.
- While the potatoes are cooking, remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature.
- Once the potatoes are almost done, remove them from the grill and set them aside. Keep the foil packet closed to keep the potatoes warm.
- Place the marinated steaks on the grill and cook to your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, cook for about 3-4 minutes per side. Adjust the cooking time according to your preferences.
Serve:
- Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Open the foil packet of garlic baby potatoes and transfer them to a serving dish.
- Serve the grilled steaks alongside the garlic baby potatoes, and enjoy your delicious meal!Feel free to customize this recipe by adding your favorite vegetables or a simple salad on the side. Enjoy your Grilled Steak with Garlic Baby Potatoes!
