Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 slices of bread
  • butter or cooking oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: grated cheese, sliced avocado, hot sauce, or chopped herbs (such as chives or parsley)

Instructions

Cook the Bacon:

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Place the bacon slices in the skillet, making sure they don't overlap.
  • Cook the bacon until it becomes crispy and browned, turning occasionally to cook both sides evenly. This should take about 4-6 minutes. Adjust the cooking time based on your preference for crispiness.

Prepare the Toast:

  • While the bacon is cooking, toast the bread slices to your desired level of crispiness. You can use a toaster or a toaster oven for this. Spread a thin layer of butter on the toasted bread if you like.

Cook the Eggs:

  • Once the bacon is cooked, remove it from the skillet and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease.
  • In the same skillet with the bacon drippings (or you can use a clean skillet), reduce the heat to medium.
  • Crack the eggs into the skillet, being careful not to break the yolks.
  • Season the eggs with a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper.
  • Cook the eggs until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny, or to your preferred level of doneness. You can cover the skillet with a lid to help the eggs cook evenly. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

Assemble the Dish:

  • Place one slice of toast on each plate.
  • Lay a slice of crispy bacon on top of each piece of toast.
  • Carefully slide a cooked egg on top of the bacon on each plate.

Add Toppings (Optional):

  • If you like, you can add your favorite toppings on top of the eggs. Some popular choices include grated cheese, sliced avocado, hot sauce, or chopped herbs.

Serve:

  • Serve your bacon and eggs on toast immediately while they're hot and enjoy your delicious breakfast!
