Ingredients

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 120 g unsalted butter melted and cooled
  • 2 eggs large
  • 200 ml milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 150 g chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C for a fan oven). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease the cups with a bit of butter or oil.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Using a spoon or an ice cream scoop, divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick or cake tester inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  • Remove the muffins from the oven and allow them to cool in the muffin tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once they are completely cool, you can enjoy your homemade chocolate chip muffins!
Feel free to adjust the amount of chocolate chips or add nuts if you prefer. Enjoy your delicious chocolate chip muffins!
